Have a wonderful time fist weekend at Gainesville Florida. The orientation for the U.S. NBA program is going great. meeting a lot of new people everyone is really awesome, making a lot of new friends for people from across the country but soon will be across the States. listen

Just left Jacksonville,...

Just left Jacksonville, Florida and I'm on my way to Miami for the Social Media Camp. I'm really looking forward to it but I'm driving in some horrible rain. I'm hoping the weather clears up by the time I get down to South Florida. Looking forward to catching up with some old friends and some new ones and looking forward to a good ol' time altogether. listen

Great MMA Tonight

Had a great time hanging out with Bruce, John, and "T". We were watching the UFC event on SpikeTV and the Affliction PPV. The matches were really good. Caught a couple of Knock-outs, some Arm-Bar submissions, and a few tapouts. Definitely a good time.

Dark Knight Tonight!

Gonna catch the midnight show of Dark Knight with my brother-in-law tonight. I'm really excited about this one. This definitely has been one of the best franchise reboots that I've seen. We're going to catch it at Tinseltown  here in Jax. Should be a lot of fun.

Day 3 at the new gig, so far everything is going pretty well, seeing a lot of ___ faces, lot of new ones joined in a bunch so far and I am really enjoying wearing T-shirt for work, sounds kind of silly, but I like it. listen

It's another fun filled...

It's another fun filled Friday, headed off to work, got the kids off to school with minor drama. Andre was holing the coffee; actually I really don't know how to squeeze(?), but I gave him my coffee to hold, I run back inside of the house to get something out of the house, I went back to the car, he's screaming, there's coffee everywhere; hilarity ensues. So, that's always fun. Very fun to have a little drama right before we actually get out of the driveway. listen

Just left Jacksonville...

Just left Jacksonville Florida and I am headed to Orlando for the bar camp Orlando, pretty excited, being able to meet with a bunch of different people who are also developers. It is my first time going. So, not really sure what to expect. They have got a pretty cool website and they have listed all the different types of activities they are going to have, different sessions. So, I am not sure, which one's I am going to choose. The day they have developer session and then tomorrow they are going to be doing new media like video online all the good stuff. So, I am pretty excited, looking forward to seeing it, looking forward to talking and meeting people and I'll let you know how it turns out. listen

The Refresh Jacksonville meeting, was hosted by NgenWorks here in Jacksonville. They're off of Hendricks right on the corner. Really nice group. I got to talk with Joey and thank him for hosting/directing the meeting. It's really nice time being able to meet other design people and learn and have a good time.

Head over to RefreshJacksonville.org. Had a really good time this evening. They had a presentation from DripsBlack.com They're a design company here in Jacksonville. And they're mainly focusing on animation and movie production. It's really neat being able to see what they're able to design and create, using a lot of different products together. It's really neat, being able pick their brains, learn some new stuff, and get an all around sense of what's involved in creating movie clips. I got a chance to speak with the owners,Shayne and Bill, and pick their brain a little more after the session to learn some technical stuff; Being able to use Maya, After Effects, and some other programs on the Mac. It was really fun. listen

Headed over to The Grotto

Headed over to The Grotto after work and right before the RefreshJacksonville.org meeting. Had a great time with Mitch the owner and Nathan the wine expert and also Pico the server. Had a really good time, also spoke with another gentleman named Brandon who is also a wine enthusiast, and had a really nice time speaking with him. Also met a nice couple from Fairfax, Virginia. I didn't get the husband's name but the wife name is Olga. And had a really nice time tasting some great wine right before the meeting. listen

Just amazing how you...

Just amazing how you run in to the same people in different places and you're reminded what a benefit it is to treat other people with respect to make sure that you don't make a mistake of burning bridges, making enemies, trying to do some under handed deed and how you're kinda rewarded by do this. So, it is a constant reminder to make sure that I don't make that mistake of burning bridges.

So what I've pretty much challenged him to do is for him to now now use 10 words or more, and he has equally challenged me to use 4 words or less. I think I've found that it's a lot easier to go on and on and on than to spit out what you're trying to say. listen

My current job has taught...

My current job has taught me a lot about communication, and i don't mean that in a sarcastic way. I've really learned a lot of very effective ways of to communicate with people. I personally have the habit of being long-winded or taking entirely too many words when trying to explain what I'm thinking. Sometimes it may be a safe way to communicate, but what I've found is that its not the most effective way to communicate. One of my coworkers has the uncanny ability to say what he needs to say in four words or less. listen

It's still amazing to...

It's still amazing to me, how small our world is and particularly Jacksonville. It's amazing I live here in 1 technology group or 1 circle of friends or 1 sphere of influence. It's pretty amazing how small your world is and just a daily reminder that you need to treat others, how you want to be treated. It's pretty impressive. listen
